Among other things that i did today, I taught someone how to swim. ok, maybe not from the scratch. She could get around in the water, but didn’t know any of the strokes and wasn’t a real competent swimmer. By the end of the two hours, she was swimming the crawl stoke!
Aside from teaching someone how to swim, I helped dig a drainage ditch for a friend. It was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. It was work, but we got a lot done in a couple of hours.
And then the rest of the weekend was about cleaning up and unpacking. there’s a few boxes let but it’s all stuff that is going to Goodwill.
The area where the living room is, is not really done yet. I have a friend staying with me a for a couple of days, so it’s a bit hard to get it where I want it to be without being in his way all the time. I also haven’t hung any shelves or pictures yet. I’s like a second opinion and some help with that and mom and dad are good with that kind of stuff. And I haven’t set up the computer area yet because Qwest needs to come out and fix my dsl connection. That should be done tomorrow so I can hopefully put all the computer stuff away tomorrow evening. So here’s a slight slide show of things as they are so far.
the view from the doorway. Most of the boxes along the wall are empty. There’s just no room in the recycle bin.

The kitchen is all set up. Ok, not all set up. I need to get a bunch of those command adhesive hooks for the mugs.
There’s a couple of boxes of photos that need to be unpacked. I think the coffee table might have to go. If I open the computer desk I can’t sit anywhere but on the coffee table.
This is the computer area to the right of the tv. Hopefully it will be full operational by tomorrow afternoon.

And here’s the couch without a blanket on it. The blanket is on it only to protect it from the cats. They don’t seem to care about the couch. They just want a place to lay down. And because it’s so hot, they prefer to sleep on the floor. And if it gets any hotter around here, I may join them on the floor.

The new place it looking great (and lived in)! Would you believe that I don’t know how to swim, either?…I took a swim clas when I was about 6 or 7 one summer, but wasn’t able to continue it…I have a hard time leaving the wall of a pool for fear of drowning…lol
