I never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually starting to like running. Today I did a 3 mile run, came home and took a shower and then headed out to run some errands On the way back I thought about taking another run. But I decided against it since we have a 7.5 mile run tomorrow morning.
I now want to really get my hands on those Vibram Five Fingers shoes. I think the gym would frown on my kicking off my sneakers and running on the treadmill. By the by – why is is that a big athletic, health conscience city like Seattle can only get these shoes at one place – REI. And my parents, who live in upstate NY can choose from a few places. For instance Fleet Feet over on Wolf Rd? Or perhaps you’re heading to camp to see the leaves change colors, you could check out Lake George Kayak in Bolton or Sacandaga Outdoor Center in Hadley. WTF? All I’ve got is REI and a long drive to Bellingham!
Along with the new found “like” of running, I decided to try a new recipe. Actually it was one that I kinda made up on the spot. Fueled by the need for more protein in my diet, I made some homemade guacamole (avocados, fresh cilantro, garlic, lemon juice, jalapeno pepper, tomato) and cooked up some – mom this is the part that will make you gag – pinto beans. Then I mixed it together and threw it all on a tortilla. It was pretty darn good and rather filling.
I suppose I should get ready for bed. I’ve got a long run tomorrow. Not to mention, it’s suppose to rain. Odd… it never rains in Seattle
